The Tripoli International Fair in Lebanon is an unfinished relic designed in 1962 by Brazilian modernist architect Oscar Niemeyer. Built on southern Tripoli’s orange orchards, the project was never completed due to the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War. The fairground embodies the utopian aspirations of unity and progress of a bygone era with its bold geometric shapes and expansive 10,000-square-meter open space.
